Restaurant owners, you need the TIPS Academy course because hiring inexperienced staff can strain your team and resources. Training new employees from scratch is time-consuming and costly, often leading to high turnover rates as new hires get overwhelmed and quit. This cycle forces you to repeatedly start the training process.

With the TIPS Academy course, you can streamline this process and move on to the business of serving your clientele.

Our 6-level certification system allows you to select staff with the precise skill level required for your job openings. Join our mailing list to be kept in loop with staff available to fit your team’s needs.

About
Sandrine.

Allow me to introduce myself. My career in the hospitality industry began at the age of 15 in Belgium, where I earned a diploma in hospitality management. In 1992, I moved to Canada and started working as a server in small coffee shops and continued gaining experience in various pubs, hotels, and restaurants.

In the mid-90s, I dedicated myself fully to the industry, working up to 90 hours a week, seven days a week for five years, working in both small and fine dining restaurants. My entry into fine dining happened by chance at Le Gavroche Restaurant. I was initially called in to fill in for an injured worker and performed so well that I secured a permanent position even after the original worker returned.

After time in Montreal and Belgium, I returned to Vancouver to take on a management role. I became a manager at Le Gavroche, and subsequently served as the front-of-house manager at Le Crocodile, a fine dining establishment, for 17 years.

People often ask why I work so much. The answer is simple: I love it. The hospitality industry is beautiful, offering a dynamic and fulfilling career. My experiences in Vancouver have been exceptional, allowing me to meet incredible people and enjoy a vibrant life.
